WELDING TECHNIQUES Prepare area to be welded by removing all foreign substances, chemically or mechanically. Grind or machine away old weld metal. Deposit on AC or DC, maintaining a close arc and employing stringer beads. Back whip each crater and remove all slag between passes. GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS Designed specifically for joining and building up types 301, 302, 303, 304, 304L, 308, and 347 grades of stainless steel and for joining these grades to carbon steels.
