Product info
Low Hydrogen (rutile basic) electrode The DUROARC® 16TC is a smooth running low hydrogen electrode which is developed for all positional welding except vertical down. This electrode gives an excellent stability of weld characteristics even with poor fit up is encountered. The Duralloy® 16TC twin coated fluxing is a unique process which separates those flux constituents that impair arc stability to the outside of the flux coating. The unusually stable arc characteristics make this electrode ideally suited to root pass and positional welding. The only electrode in the Duralloy Low Hydrogen range that can be used on an AC power source with a low open circuit voltage. SPECIFICATIONS Tensile Strength........................................630 MPa Yield Strength...........................................520 MPa Elongation................................................31 % Charpy V Notch @ -20°C.........................120J APPLICATION • Heavy section joint design • Structural steel • Plant maintenance • Carbon steels up to .4% WELDING PROCEDURES (POLARITY DC (+) OR AC) Arc striking and re-striking are exceptional characteristics of the Duralloy® 16TC. Area to be welded should be clean conventional stringer bead welding technique is best. AWS A 5.1 E7016 H10
